First, this email will be a bit long due to the amount of information we have going on for the season. I wanted to send a note out to remind everyone of tomorrow is the first day of swim and dive for Forest Hills. Registration will remain open until Saturday so if anyone wants to try before committing you are more than welcome to do so. The practice schedule will be the following:
Swim
Age Group
12 and over - 7:45a-9:00a
9,10,11 - 8:45a-9:45a
8 and under (All) - 9:30a-10:45a
All 8 and unders will start at 9:30 and the coaches Meghan and Kendra will let you know which group your child will be a part of - White or Blue moving forward. If you need to make special arrangements please see Coach Meghan to discuss with them.
Diving
All divers will begin practice at 11a tomorrow. Coach Kailey will be leading the dive team for the first week as Coach Debbie is out of town.
SwimTopia
Please download the app to your phone if you haven't done so. Most communication will come via email and alerts sent via the app for the swim team. Starting tomorrow all meets will open to add a status. For anyone that has planned vacation, you can mark your swimmer as not available for the meet and this will let the coaches know they cannot swim. If you have a parent that needs to sign up and was added to the registration, all they need to do is a password reset request through the app and it should allow them to login.
Events
Donut Days will be begin starting Friday. Signups are active for this all donut days. We usually need about 6 dozen of donuts each Friday. We will have our Ice Cream Social for the swim and dive teams on Sunday (June 2nd from 4-6pm). All children and siblings can participate in that ice cream social. Sign-ups for condiments and toppings are open as well.
Volunteer Positions
We ask that each family volunteer for 2 meets. Each meet is split into halves (so it is for just one half unless you want to volunteer for the entire meet). The positions are outlined on our website for Volunteer Positions.
All signups will go live on Thursday, May 30th at 8am for all meets (except Champs). Signups can be done through SwimTopia app once it open. There will be a few positions that we will be assigning as they are special roles for the meets and those folks have been identified.
Payments
I will be at the first practice probably until 10am tomorrow and a few others this week if you want to drop off your check. If you paid online (cc) then are you are good to go. If I'm not there, you can also drop them off to Lindsey Weider and Julie Keeney or the coaches.
Suits
Tomorrow will be the last day that we have the suit kit provided by Swimville. After tomorrow if you need to try a suit, you will need to visit Swimville (7714 Montgomery Rd., Ste. B, Cincinnati, OH 45236)
Caps and T-Shirts
Each child that is registered for swim and/or dive team will get a t-shirt and cap. The T-shirts have been ordered and will have some extra in adult sizes for purchase. When they arrive, we will send out a note. Last year we got them the first meet of the season and hopeful we get them before then or by the first meet. I am currently out of latex caps and will communicate when we have those back in. Just a reminder that all children for meets need to wear a FHSC or a blank cap (can turn a cap inside out if necessary but cannot have another team/logo exposed) for the meets only. Hoping to have those this week.
Dive Judge Clinic
Steve Voellmecke will be hosting a diving judge clinic at Madeira Swim and Tennis Club on Tuesday, June 4th at 7:00 p.m. This is a joint venture with the Private Pool Swim League (PPSL) and the 7-Hills League.
The
clinic is open to any 7-Hills League or PPSL diving parent who wants to
learn about judging diving. The clinic should last about one hour or so
(depending on questions) and there is NO COST to attend.
