Normandy Results
First - a huge thank you to all of the volunteers last night! We had a couple of folks that stepped up last minute due to illness - so Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! It's take a village to run meets efficiently and next week will be a home meet where will need more folks to step up.
For those kids that it was their first time swimming in the meet, we hope that they had fun. Lots of personal best times broken with the younger swimmers last night.
Meet Results
Normandy won the meet 341-315. However, we had a lot of great performances from the 15-18 Girls and Boys, 9-10 and 11-12 Boys in the relays. Kudos for everyone who improved their time or it was their first time in a meet! Within Swimtopia, the results for your child(ren) will be posted in the meet. Green means that they improved upon time and red means they added time (this is from their best time in the event from last year).
Ribbons
All kids will receive ribbons for their heats as long as they did not DQ. The ribbon box will be out today (it is a blue box with folders). This will have a folder for each of the swimmers that participated with their ribbons. Not making it today, the ribbon box will be out at practice next week.
DQs
From time to time, your son or daughter will get DQ'd by the judges at a meet. This is not meant to be punitive, but rather what needs to be done to improve the form of the stroke. Breaststroke and Fly are typically ones were we see the most and the DQs will have the reason. Again, this is an opportunity to improve for the next meet and to prepare for champs.
Home Meet Next Week
Our next meet we will be hosting Terrace Park. For those that have signed up for volunteer roles, much appreciated. For those that haven't, please consider a parent role if you have a child in that group. We have a lot of 8 and under girls and boys this year and we need at least 2 if not 3 volunteers for each 1st and 2nd half.
One major difference is our Shark Bites grill for home meets. In Swimtopia, you will see a sign up for Shark bites for donations we sell at the meet that goes back to the swim and dive team. This is for donations of items we sell at our grill and the list is published in Swimtopia. If you are interested in helping please see Julie Keeney who can help answer any questions.
Just like last week, we ask that all attendance for the meet (all meets will start with 2024) be placed by Monday at noon. The coaches will talk to those that are close for the 1 minute time for the younger ones.
More to come on the logistics of the meet next week.
Star Board
The star board which is located at the entrance of the club will be updated after meets. Additional stars will be added to each child as they improve their personal bests in the events that they participate in. At the end of the season, each child will take them home.
Again, thank you to all of the volunteers last night and kudos to our swimmers!
