Swim Champ Prelims is upon us and sending out a final note about this today.  More may come later once we have setup the tents and the team area tonight.  

Volunteers

We still need age group parents for the PM session.   

• 8 and under Boys - (0) - we need at least one
• 8 and under Girls (1) - we need at least two
• 9-10 Girls - (0) - we need one
• Clerk of Course (0)

Parent Reminders

There are no chairs on the deck.  There are bleachers setup to watch and the ask by all clubs is to watch your child's event and then move to allow for others to watch.  Unless, you reserved a table via Miami Hills, the tables on the deck are all reserved.   Please be courteous to other clubs as we will have all six teams swimming at this meet.    

No parents other than the clerk of course, timers and officials will be allowed behind the blocks.  The age group parents will take the kids to clerk of course and then the clerk will move them to their place and to the blocks. 

Now that we have the adult stuff out of the way - cheer on your child!   Encourage them to do their best.   There are only 12 swimmers in the champs final.   Not every kid will make finals.  If they break their personal best, be extremely proud of that fact!   

Tomorrow is about your child swimming their best (and legal form)! It's all about time.  Regardless of their place in the heat, the seeding from 1-12 is based  upon time.   

Swimtopia will not have updates.  There will be a board posted at Miami Hills with the top 12 results and 2 alternates.  If your child is not going to swim on Wednesday and qualifies, please let the coaches know so they can scratch.  Places 13 and 14 are consider alternates and if there is a scratch they will take the place of the swimmer 12 and the rest of the swimmers will move up.   

If your child does qualify for champs - huge shout out!   Especially for the 8 and unders were there are plethora of kids competing!  

DQs

Inevitably there will be DQs and if you have a question about why there was one, those inquiries have to go through our coaches (Meghan/Kendra).   If you have questions, please see them and they can ask the admins.  No parents are allowed at the admin or to confront officials! 

Weather

If there is any determination about weather, we will get an alert out via Swimtopia.  Weather delays, etc are determined by the host club, staff and head official, not by anyone at Forest Hills.  Typically if we have thunder or lightening, we will be in a delay for at least 30 minutes.  

Swim Champs Logistics

You can drop off swimmers by entering Miami Hills off of Rainbow Trail road. Please follow the map here to help with Swimmer Drop off. Parking will be at Trinity United Methodist Church - 5767 Wolfpen-Pleasant Hill Road Milford, OH 45150. There is no street parking within the neighborhood and it is recommended to park at the church.  Please be patient for parking as there will be a lot of families and give yourself extra time. You will walk from the church to the club.

The entrance for Champs will be on the side of the pool by the church and not the main entrance of the pool. For those with parking passes, please follow the instructions by the folks in the parking lot. 

Forest Hills will be in the far corner of the pool behind the clerk of course. We will have tents set up in the area along with signs. Please make sure all swimmers stay in that area during prelims.

Prelim Warmups for Morning Session (11 and up) - 7:40a-8a

Prelim Warmups for Afternoon Session (10 and under) - 11:50-12:10

Please make sure you arrive before the warm-ups to get your event details.   We will have a board ready and have heat sheets as well..  This is our only warmup time so if you do not make it, you will not have the opportunity to warm up. 

Morning (AM) Session begins at 9am

Afternoon (PM) Session begins at 1pm

The timelines had the AM finishing around 11:10a.  Once your swimmer has completed their events, they are free to leave. 

Swim Champ Admissions (Cash Money Only!)

Admission prices set by the Seven Hills League are as follows:

• Under 6: no charge
• 6-15 years old and 60 & up: $2/day (cash only)
• 16 - 59: $5/day (cash only)
• Paid officials, coaches, & swimmers admitted at no charge.
• Spectators, volunteer officials, and other volunteers must pay the admission fee

Swim Champs shirts I will have at Champs to hand out.  I will be working the second half, but I will have these ready to distribute.  

Awards Banquet

Rain or Shine will have the awards banquet on Thursday (7/11). We need a few volunteers to help grill. Please bring either a side or a dessert for the banquet. Signups are in Swimtopia.
