New Swim Practice Schedule 6/16
As you have seen from the announcement today, the pool is opening tonight. However, we are going to have swim practice at West Clermont on Tuesday (6/16) and then Wednesday (6/17) pivot swim practices back to the club.
Tuesday - 6/16 - West Clermont (normal time starting at 10am)
Wednesday - 6/17 - Forest Hills (older kids starting at 7:45am) (and subsequent practices back to FHSC)
None of us thought the inspection would happen so soon, so it is great news.
Just a quick shout to Justin Stephens, Bernie Maloney, Kevin Von Hertsenberg, Mason Ryan and Phil Von Hertsenberg for all of their work over the past 3 days to get the gate and pool to pass inspection.
For Wednesday, practices will begin earlier - much earlier for the older kids. So there will probably be a lot angst, tears, a lot of no's, so mentally be prepared parents :) I've heard water and air horns are real motivators for heavy sleepers.... One note, after talking with the coaches, we are combining the 8 and unders into one group (9:30-10:15am) which should allow all divers to get to WC for practice without any conflicts. The web site has been updated on the changes to reflect this. Also, Fridays we will have swim practice and begin donut days. Practice on Friday's differs a bit since meets are on Thursdays
The diving well had the steps poured and then will we will see when we can get the boards attached and inspected.
Sorry for all of the changes and appreciate everyone's patience, but it will be good to be back at the club this week.

Star Board
You will notice when you get to the club there is a new star board for this season. We added stars for the first meet but have decided against doing it for the Miami Hills meet. The reason - high school courses are in yards and our pools are in meters so the distances are not the same. If we used the scores from Miami Hills meet, everyone pretty much had a personal best and may not beat that the rest of the season. Because of the difference, they also don't count towards club records.
