Dive Results and Practice this week 6/22
Congrats to our Shark Divers this week who were victorious at Terrace Park. There are some notes from Coach Debbie about practice this week due to Bella being out of town.
Congratulations on the second win of the season for the FH Dive Team. FH 55 and Terrace Park 14. Official Results for Dive vs TP
Dive also won our "home" meet with Miami Hills 57 to 26 the week before. Official Results for Dive vs MH
Dive Practice
This week's practice for the dive team will continue to be at WC. Times are a little different because Bella is out of town so Debbie is splitting our dive time up into two times for better coverage. Tuesday thru Friday 8 & U and 9 & 10 - 11:30 to 12:15 p.m. /// 11& 12 and 13 & 14 12:15 to 1 p.m. (if you have a younger sibling that sibling should come to the later practice with their older brother or sister)
Meets this week
This week we have two meets. Thursday, June 25 we will be going to the Turpin Swim Club on Clough Pike. They will warm up at 2:30 p.m. and we will be at 3:00 p.m. Meet starts at 3:30 p.m. This is a half hour earlier than normal. After the dive meet, anyone who is also a swimmer will then head to FHSC for the swim competition because it is a home swim meet.
Friday, June 26 we are going to try to have our mock Normandy meet during dive practice. It might be a little crazy but we will do the best we can.
Judges for Mock Meet
Debbie needs some help with judging if you think you could give it a try and she might need help with an announcer even though we are really playing this whole meet down. Be on stand by to help in any way.
The following week, Debbie has to turn in Champ dives on Monday, June 29th. If you will be out of town on Monday, July 6 please let her know this week. Our last dual meet is at Indian Hill on July 2.
Dive Champs Info
A few things to know about dive champs: This year champs are held at Terrace Park - They are calling it the Aloha Invitational so dress the part.
- In order to be in champs you must be in two dual meets.
- Every age group must do one additional dive. For example, an 8 & U who has been doing 2 dives all season now has to do 3 dives.
- Cuts are made in champs. Top 12 divers score for their team.
- In the champ meet, older kids dive first and the younger kids are last. So 15 & 18 kids start the competition at 8 a.m. and then we keep working our way down to the younger kids. 9 & 10 and 8 & Under are typically after 1 p.m. An estimated timeline will be sent out the week of champs.
- We have an optional warm up at Terrace Park on Sunday morning, July 5 at 11 a.m. to 12 noon. I know this is a holiday weekend so do the best you can and whatever is best for your family. The divers will also get a chance to warm up the day of the champ meet right before their event but it is a little more crowded.
